Disaster affected society recognizes “White Army” of Jeevan Mukti Seva Sanstha, Kolhapur as Angel Organization. Even the Government Authorities appreciate the Relief & Rescue work done by Jeevan Mukti Seva Sanstha (White Army) for the past l9 years from local to international level. They also take appropriate help of Jeevan Mukti Seva Sanstha wherever required.
Jeevan Mukti Seva Sansta (White Army) has undertaken following activities, besides several other Rescue and Relief operations.
1. To find out dead bodies and to arrange for their funerals, at the time of Disaster.
2. To rescue the people who are stranded due to disaster and to supply them food, Medicines, cloths etc.
3. To conduct Medical treatment center/camp for injured people.
4. To help in rehabilitation work.
Thus, all the Disaster Management related activities are being conducted by Jeevan Mukti Seva Sanstha and required manpower and equipments are also available with us.
In 2003, at the time of Kokan Railway Accident in Dist. Sindhudurg, Maharashtra. the White dressed disciplined volunteers of Jeevan Mukti Seva Sansta carried out a rescue operation overnight, which could save many of lives and thus, considering this, the Railway Authorities called it as “White Army”. We have been maintaining the dignity of this name till date.
The institute has been started by Mr. Ashok Laxman Rokade – The Founder President. Initially, the job of carring on funerals of “Unclaimed – Dead bodies”, was undertaken by us. This gave birth to an organization comprising of Devoted Volunteers (both Male & Female) caring for this nation and for social purpose. Many Doctors, Nurses, Trekkers, lawyers, Scuba-Drivers and other Technical Persons are regular members of the organization.
We would like to mention here that Jeevan Mukti Seva Sanstha has been working for the last 19/20 years, with the support of its more than 2500 Volunteers, without taking any financial help/aid from the Government.
